University President Meets with Editors-in-Chief of Scientific Journals

The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, chaired a meeting with the editors-in-chief and managing editors of the university’s scientific journals. The meeting was attended by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hassan Jabal, and the Head of the Scientific Journals Division, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dhia Najm Abdulameer.

During the meeting, the university president emphasized support for all journals by providing necessary resources and working to overcome obstacles that hinder their inclusion in global indexing databases.

Participants proposed several recommendations to enhance scientific publishing, increase citations of published research, and support the geographic diversity of researchers and editors, all of which contribute to meeting the indexing requirements of Scopus and Clarivate.

It is noteworthy that the university currently publishes six scientific journals in various fields: Journal of Engineering and Technology, Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control, and Systems Engineering, Iraqi Journal of Architectural Engineering and Planning, Journal of Applied Sciences and Nanotechnology
m, Iraqi Journal of Oil and Gas Research, and Journal of Soft Computing and Computer Applications

Additionally, a journal specializing in mechanical and aerospace engineering is currently under development.
