
Workshop on Diversity Importance
The Electromechanical Systems Engineering Branch in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Technology held a workshop entitled “Diversity and Its Importance: Scientific and Supporting Capabilities” in the Electronic Classroom.
The workshop presented by Asst. lect. Wissam Zahm and attended by the Head of the Electromechanical Systems Engineering Branch, Asst.prof.Dr. Israa Saad, and a number of faculty members, discussed diversity in all its forms and aspects, such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, and social status.
The discussion focused particularly on one type of diversity, namely “diversity of scientific capabilities,” where the lecturer emphasized that diversity is a broad term that includes even differences in experiences, perspectives, thinking, and the skills and expertise that a person possesses.
The workshop covered the following topics: (social, ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, scientific, and professional diversity).
The workshop aimed to achieve a number of goals, including (multiple success plans, decision-making power, resilience, alternative plans, increasing knowledge, and self-development).
