Workshop on Engineering Program Accreditation

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University of Technology, and the Iraqi Council for Engineering Education Accreditation, held a workshop to identify the required documents for engineering program accreditation.

The workshop was attended by the Head of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering (Asst. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Abdul Hussein Bilal) and the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering (Prof. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar).

Furthermore, the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, the Iraqi Council for Engineering Education Accreditation, and the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department organized a field workshop to review the documents required for the engineering program accreditation of the Electromechanical Systems branch program. The workshop was field-led by a council member (Prof. Dr. Jalal Mohammed Jalil) and (Asst. Prof. Dr. Saad Ahmed), Head of the Electromechanical Systems Branch.

A group of departments from the university participated, including the Departments of Chemical Engineering, Control and Systems Engineering, Petroleum and Gas Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. They reviewed essential aspects of the required documentation to prove readiness to apply for accreditation through examples in the Electromechanical Systems program for the years (2022-2023) and (2023-2024). This also included minutes of the Industry Advisory Board, an end-of-stage questionnaire, and direct measurement tests for all outputs.

The workshop was attended by the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the university, branch heads, and quality assurance department heads.
