College of Biomedical Engineering Organizes Scientific Visit to Ibn Al-Quff Hospital

In recognition of the crucial role of practical and applied aspects in enhancing students’ academic journeys, the College of Biomedical Engineering organized a specialized scientific visit for third-year students from the Biomechanics Department to Ibn Al-Quff Hospital for Spinal Cord Injuries.

The visit aimed to expose students to the applications of biomaterials and biomechanics in medical fields, and how these are utilized in rehabilitation and treatment.

The scientific visit was supervised by Professor Dr. Jinan Sattar Khashan and Lecturer Dr. Ali Amer, instructors of Biomaterials and Biomechanics, accompanied by staff from the Biomaterials and Biomechanics laboratory.

During the visit, students observed the various rehabilitation and physical therapy methods provided for different cases. They also visited the dental treatment department, which is designed to meet the specific health needs of injured patients, and explored the radiology and laboratory departments.

The scientific visit concluded with a joint lecture given by the supervising faculty and several hospital staff members. During this session, student observations were discussed, inquiries were answered, and students were guided on the importance of utilizing graduation projects to serve this vital segment of injured individuals, aligning with the objectives of the Biomedical Engineering Department in serving the community.
