The Department of Energy and Renewable Energy at the College of Electromechanical Engineering organized a scientific visit for its students to the Baghdad Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy, under the supervision of the faculty members: Assistant Lecturer Dr. Mazen Abdul-Aali Hamza (Head of the Department’s Committee), Professor Dr. Aseel Jasim Mohammed, Assistant Professor Dr. Huda Kadhim Jadran, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Wahab Ismail.
The visit aimed to introduce students to the reality of sustainable energy in Iraq and to learn about the practical applications of solar systems, batteries, energy storage technologies, and their benefits to society and the environment.
The centre’s management, in the presence of its Executive Director, Lect. Sally Qusay, Lect. Shams Mohammed, and one of the department’s graduates, Lect. Maryam Nafie, accompanied the college delegation on a tour inside the centre’s departments. They provided a comprehensive explanation of the institution’s objectives, work mechanisms, and the challenges facing the renewable energy sector locally.
