Control and Systems Engineering Department organizes an awareness workshop on the importance of human rights

Based on the principle of the importance of building a culture of human rights and consolidating respect for these rights and working with them, and on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, the Department of Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology organized an awareness workshop entitled The Importance of Human Rights, lectures were given by Dr. Alia Abdul Redha Abbas and Assistant Professor Farah Falih Hassan.

The workshop dealt with explaining the concept of human rights and explaining the characteristics of human rights and the types of these rights, such as the right to education, food, clothing, the individual’s standard of living, the right to opinion and expression, and the right to the environment, including the cultural environment.

The lecturers explained that human rights in society are the achievement of justice and honesty in relations between people and lead to building an environment that every person deserves, as well as providing a suitable environment for him to be able to determine his goals and develop himself, and providing a democratic environment in which every person enjoys equal opportunities to be able to build his life, in addition to providing the opportunity for the person to communicate with groups that share his goals, and giving him the opportunity to express his opinion without being exposed to psychological or physical abuse from those who hold power in society, and thus his rights push him to develop rationally and in all aspects.
