
Electro-Mechanical Engineering Department Presents Workshop on “Program Accreditation and Quality of Education”
The Petroleum and Gas Equipment Engineering and Navigation and Guidance Engineering branches at the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Technology, held an introductory workshop on “The importance of program accreditation and its role in enhancing the quality of education” at the Al-Kindi Hall. The workshop was attended by heads and coordinators of branches, as well as a number of faculty members.
The workshop began with a speech by the head of the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Abdul Hussein Bilal, about the foundations of obtaining accreditation, foremost of which is scientific research. The department head urged the faculty to take responsibility and present the scientific material in a professional manner.
In his speech, Dr. Ghassan Abdul Hussein Bilal said, “We are expecting an important event in the coming days, which is the announcement of the central acceptance at the Iraqi level for the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Department, after it was previously limited to the universities of Baghdad and Al-Nahrain.”
The workshop supervisor, Prof. Dr. Jalal Muhammad Jalil, provided a detailed explanation of the seven outcomes for preparing the Navigation and Guidance and Petroleum and Gas Equipment branches for accreditation, along with their performance indicators. The explanation also included detailed examples for each outcome, and the outcomes were distributed to the faculty members, two for each, in addition to identifying the courses.
