Faculty Members from Environmental Research Centre Participate in Scientific Conference

Faculty members from the Environmental Research Centre at the University of Technology participated in the Sixth International Scientific Conference of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies, held under the slogan “Biotechnologies towards a Sustainable Future” at Al-Hakeem Hall at the University of Baghdad.

This participation comes within the centre’s continuous endeavour for scientific openness and academic communication.

The centre’s participation included a scientific output presented by Dr. Zahraa Zahraw regarding a recently obtained US patent. Her presentation addressed an innovative application in the field of environmental biotechnologies, reflecting the level of research and development reached by the centre. Additionally, Dr. Iman Shaker participated with an applied research project that was approved and implemented in cooperation with the Russian Federation. The research highlighted modern innovations in wastewater treatment and reuse technologies, which sparked the interest of the participants and opened avenues for future cooperation. Dr. Afaf Abdul Rahman Ayoub from the Environmental Technologies Department at the centre also attended the conference.

This participation is part of the centre’s efforts to enhance research collaboration and the exchange of expertise with academic and applied institutions, and to solidify its active role in the national and international scientific landscape.
