Speech of the President of the University of Technology

Since the founding of the University of Technology in 1975, the university has proudly served as one of the main solid academic institutions in Iraq, where it has a stable position and a long history of graduating generations of scholars, in addition to academic excellence, diversity of thought, innovation, and community participation. The University of Technology is dedicated to excellence in teaching, learning, research and developing leaders across scientific and engineering disciplines who make a positive difference in their country and in the world. Examples of this are many and varied.

We believe that the greatest strength of any institution is its individuals and their expertise. Therefore, we have developed a plan to advance the scientific and administrative reality and fight administrative and financial corruption, so that the results of the plan focus on consecrating and strengthening the learning environment, moving forward, and serving students, faculty members, employees, and the Iraqi community alike. Therefore, we work together continuously to exchange knowledge and search for resources to enhance building on a strong foundation and to provide all the necessary requirements for the success of the educational process and community service.

With more than 11 thousand students, 16 engineering and scientific departments, and 15 research, service and consulting centers, the University of Technology has been included in the British Times classification at the global level. At the national level, the university is considered second in the British Times classification, and our university occupies first place in the national classification for the quality of Iraqi universities. In institutional performance, this indicates scientific and engineering progress and the quality of published research. As a result of all of the above, the University of Technology supplies the labor market and state departments with all scientific and engineering specializations, as its graduates enjoy the greatest opportunities compared to their graduate peers and are always remarkably successful in their professional lives.
