President of the University of Technology Receives Prime Minister’s Advisor and Tours Training Centers, Research Labs, and the College of Mechanical Engineering

The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, received on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Education, Higher Education, and Civil Society Organizations, Dr. Waleed Al-Hilli, in his office. The meeting was attended by the University’s Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khulood Salah Khashan, and Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Farhad Mohammed Othman.

Dr. Al-Hilli congratulated Dr. Hamza on assuming the presidency of the university, wishing him success in leading this prestigious institution and in promoting its name at local and international levels. He also emphasized the importance of continuous efforts to serve the university and the country.

Following the meeting, Dr. Al-Hilli, accompanied by the University President and his deputies, conducted a field tour that included the Training and Laboratories Center, where they reviewed the machinery and equipment used for training students and researchers. The visit also included the Center for Energy and Renewable Energy Research, where they explored its departments, met with faculty members, researchers, and staff, and discussed the main challenges they face and possible solutions.

The tour concluded with a visit to the College of Mechanical Engineering, where the delegation inspected several scientific laboratories that support both faculty and students.

Dr. Al-Hilli praised the University of Technology for its significant contributions to scientific research, its presence in international academic rankings, and its role in supplying both the public and private sectors with highly qualified engineers.

He ended his visit by extending his best wishes for continued success to the university’s leadership, faculty, staff, and students in serving the beloved country of Iraq.
