Technology University President chairs Materials Engineering Department discussion membership doctoral thesis
The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, chaired the discussion committee of a doctoral thesis in the Department of Materials Engineering entitled:
“Desulfurization of refinery equipment with modified coating layers”
The doctoral thesis of the student Zahraa Adnan Hamza aimed to remove sulfur from fuels using catalytic coating layers for equipment in refineries, where a coating was prepared from a highly efficient photo catalyst to remove sulfur by oxidation.
The results showed that removing sulfur by coating contributed effectively to removing sulfur more efficiently than traditional methods and reducing pollution by inhibiting SO2 emissions.
The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban as Chairman and the membership of Prof. Dr. Nevin Gamal Abdel Qader, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hamza Mustafa Kamal, Asst. Prof. Dr. Laith Wadah Ismail, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Heba Anwar Abdullah and the supervision of both Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Jalal Dawood and Asst. Prof. Dr. Murtada Abbas Jabbar. The thesis was scientifically evaluated by Prof. Dr. Nabaa Sattar Radhi and Prof. Dr. Bahaa Sami Mahdi and linguistically by Asst. Prof. Dr. Khaled Khader Abbas.
