
The Department of Biomedical Engineering organizes a workshop on drugs, cyber extortion, and terrorism
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, President of the University of Technology, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Sadiq Hussein Bakhi, Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, the Department of Studies and Planning, in cooperation with the Psychological and Educational Counseling Unit and in coordination with the National Security Apparatus, organized a workshop on drugs, cyber extortion, and terrorism.
The workshop was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members and students from the Biomedical Engineering Department. A specialized team from the National Security Apparatus delivered comprehensive lectures addressing the security and social risks resulting from drug abuse, methods of prevention from cyber extortion, as well as the threats of terrorism and how to counter them.
A portion of the workshop was dedicated to discussing issues of online fraud, focusing on the techniques used by fraudsters to hack bank accounts and steal electronic payment card information. The lecturers provided practical advice and guidance on how to secure personal information, avoid fraudulent links, and use two-factor authentication techniques to protect financial accounts.
The workshop concluded with a productive discussion session, during which department faculty actively participated, asking questions and offering suggestions on ways to enhance awareness.
