The Department of Biomedical Engineering Organizes a Workshop on the Right to Healthcare and Women’s Protection
The Human Rights Division of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Technology organized a workshop on the right to healthcare and women’s protection within society.
Asst.L. Mayada Jaafar Naji addressed the importance of promoting the concept of healthcare as a fundamental human right, focusing on the role of health and life insurance policies in ensuring this right.
She explained that health insurance policies represent an effective means of alleviating the financial burden on individuals in the event of illness or medical care needs, and contribute to providing health and social security. Meanwhile, life insurance policies protect families from economic burdens in the event of a sudden loss of a breadwinner, enhancing family and societal stability, particularly for women and children, who are among the groups most affected in such situations.
