The University of Technology is carrying out a massive campaign on National Afforestation Day

As part of the volunteer work campaigns carried out by the University of Technology and coinciding with the National Afforestation Day, the University of Technology, headed by Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, in cooperation with the Ministerial Committee for Higher Education and Global Research, and in the presence of the university president’s assistants for scientific affairs, Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, and his assistant for administrative affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Muhammad Othman, Dr. Khaled Omran Ali, Head of the Chemical Safety and Security Department at the Ministry of Higher Education, and a number of university lecturers, affiliates and students, participated in the campaign to plant trees in the university’s large areas.

The President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, took the initiative to plant the first seedlings to begin this campaign.

The Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Muhammad Othman, said that this campaign was carried out by elite university lecturers, employees and students to plant, afforestate and rehabilitate all of the university’s areas.

For his part, the head of chemical safety and security in the ministerial committee in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Omran, said that this campaign came in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister. We found great interest from the presidency of the University of Technology in terms of afforestation and exploitation of spaces by adding agricultural seedlings and the initiative of teachers and students in general in this. The campaign and we saw how the university presidency took the initiative to plant the first seedlings in this campaign, wishing everyone continued success.

The head of the Computer Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Hassan Jalil, stated that, in implementation of government directives and to confront climate change and the phenomenon of desertification, and out of our belief in preserving that the environment is everyone’s responsibility, the cadres of the Computer Engineering Department, in all its aspects, and in cooperation with the Agricultural Division of the Office Affairs Department, embarked on a vast afforestation campaign that included the spaces surrounding the department’s building, with the restoration of… Rehabilitation of some damaged agricultural areas and giving them an aesthetic image.

The Senior Chief Engineer Sahar Jawad Mahdi, head of the Agricultural Division of the Engineer’s Office Affairs Department, explained that the University of Technology has prepared for national afforestation by preparing a large number of shrubs and flowers in order to plant them in the university’s gardens, thus making the university beautiful and friendly to the green environment.
